When I met Harry

Created by Mike 6 years ago

Harry and I met on a picket line at the University of Gloucestershire in 1990 during a dispute about staff pay and conditions. This set the scene for many years of work with Harry as union representative at university and regional levels. Harry was clear thinking, extremely well informed through very extensive reading and a caring person who wanted to make the world a better place. His work as a trade unionist typifies how he was very able to put ideas from his professional work as a sociologist and political theorist to practical effect. This was supported by being a very warm and caring person and an exceptionally very good man!

Thanks for being a great friend and activist Harry!
